About File2Share
A simple way to send files that are too big for email: upload, get a link, share it. No account needed.
What File2Share does
You drop a file on the home page (or upload it from a terminal with curl) and get a download link. Whoever you send the link to can download the original file in any browser, without installing anything or creating an account.
- Files up to 50 GB each, up to 10 at a time.
- Files are deleted automatically after 14 days, or sooner if you choose a shorter expiry.
- Optional password protection for a link.
- An optional account if you want to see your past transfers.
How your files are handled
- Transfer: uploads and downloads are encrypted in transit with HTTPS.
- Storage: files are stored on our servers until they expire. They are not encrypted at rest, so for confidential documents we recommend encrypting them before you upload (for example a password-protected 7-Zip archive).
- Access: each link contains a random ID and is not listed or indexed by search engines. Anyone who has a link can download that file, so share links only with the people who need them.
- Deletion: an automatic job removes expired files every hour.
More detail is in our privacy policy.
What is not allowed
File2Share is for sharing your own files. Uploading material that infringes copyright, malware, or illegal content is forbidden by our terms. To keep downloads safe we also don't accept programs, apps and web pages (such as .exe, .apk and .html files). Files that break the rules are removed, and accounts used for abuse are suspended.
If you find a file that shouldn't be here, please report it.
How File2Share is paid for
