Report abuse or copyright infringement
Tell us about a file on File2Share that infringes copyright, contains malware or phishing, or is otherwise illegal. We review every report.
What you can report
- Copyright infringement: your work shared without permission (films, music, software, books, photos, paid courses).
- Malware or phishing: files designed to harm the people who download them.
- Illegal content, or content that breaks our terms.
Child sexual abuse material: report it directly to the authorities as well, for example the NCMEC CyberTipline (US) or the INHOPE hotline in your country. Do not download or forward the file.
What happens after you report
- We review the report and check the reported link.
- If the file breaks the law or our terms, we remove it and the link stops working.
- Accounts used for repeated infringement or abuse are suspended.
- We may reply by email if we need more information.
Copyright notices (DMCA)
To be valid under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)), a copyright notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough here).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
- The File2Share link(s) to the infringing file(s).
- Your contact details: name and email address (and, if you wish, postal address and phone number).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
The form below collects all of this. Please be accurate: knowingly false notices can make the sender liable for damages.
